What Is CPD and Why It Matters

If you hold a real estate licence or certificate of registration in NSW, you are required to complete CPD every year.

CPD ensures you:

  • Remain legally compliant with NSW Fair Trading

  • Keep your licence or certificate active

  • Stay up to date with legislation, compliance, and best practice

Failure to complete CPD within the required timeframe may result in licence suspension or cancellation.

CPD PATHWAYS

CPD Requirements for Class 1 & 2 Agents

All Class 1 and Class 2 licensed agents must complete the required CPD core topics relevant to their role. Please note that self-paced online training is no longer accepted. All CPD training must now be completed through interactive webinars and/or face-to-face training.

AUSCBT approved CPD training

Class 1 licence holders must also complete a minimum of 5 hours of NSW Fair Trading accredited training. This can be completed through NSW Fair Trading accredited sessions and AUSCBT approved CPD training (via Zoom or in person). In addition, Licencees in Charge are required to maintain a training plan for all agents under their supervision in line with updated Supervision Guidelines.

CPD Year & Deadlines

CPD year: 1 July to 30 June 2026

All required training must be completed before 30 June each year

CPD must be completed every year, even if you are not actively working in the industry
